Silcosteel®, Green From The Start
Restek invented Silcosteel® in 1987; from the start Restek’s unique chemical vapor deposition process minimized waste and harmful emissions.
Today Restek continues Silcosteel®’s green heritage by eliminating waste and emitting zero harmful emissions to the environment.
Unlike other manufacturers who are promoting a green image or treating green like a fad, Restek has evolved its green process through years of development and refinement.
What does green mean to Restek? It means:
- CFC-free procedures
- Zero greenhouse gas emissions
- Use of biodegradable products
- Reuse of packaging
- Facility-wide recycling
- Ultra-modern, high efficiency facilities
- High efficiency lighting
Restek Processes, Green From Start To Finish
Other manufacturers speak in generalities when talking about their green process, at Restek; we build green into our process, from start to finish!
Receiving
Custom parts are received for coating, customer boxes and packing materials are recycled or reused.
Last year Restek recycled 26 tons of cardboard, 28 tons of paper and 4 tons of glass.
Cleaning
Restek uses only environmentally safe, bio-degradable cleaning solutions when preparing standard customer parts for coating.
Restek uses a water based soap and warm water to clean customer parts.
Our discharge is ph neutral and meets all local, state and federal clean water regulations.
Coating
Restek developed its own state of the art automated chemical vapor deposition process designed to emit ZERO greenhouse gases and ZERO CFC’s or other toxic chemicals.
The Restek process is so clean the only process by-products are water and sand!
Restek’s green process is not required to be monitored under state and federal clean air or water standards.
Packaging/Shipping
Restek recycles customer containers where possible and uses bio-degradable and recyclable packaging materials.
Unlike other coating processes, Restek is truly GREEN TECHNOLOGY!
